Smart Tag Without Battery


I'm making this circuit for my car few years ago. It is a voltage regulator to replace the 9volts battery that is use for the SMART TAG device. Normally we need to change the smart tag battery every 3-4 months but with this circuit, we can save the battery cost and the most important thing is we will never stuck at smart tag lane anymore because of the drained battery.


Touch Sensor Circuit

This touch sensor circuit is a simple circuit to built by using a single 555 IC. You could adjust the R1 trim for the relay ON time or you could change R1 trim and C2  to higher value to get longer ON time for relay. The cost for this project is very cheap, estimate around RM10.

[Project] Perdana V6 Reflector with LED

Nowadays we can see wajas and Nissan Sentra using Perdana V6 reflector at the back bumper. It becomes a hit after Perdana V6 facelifted version launch on 2003.

It is only a reflector, not a lamp - there is no light produce from it. Since it is hot in the market, I've tried to customize this reflector to be alive, means put LEDs inside it to make it produces light. We cannot use normal bulb or LED since the thickness of this reflector is only about 10mm(external) and estimated to be around 6mm internally. Means even a 3mm LED cannot fit in(with PWB).. So my idea is to put a SMD LED which is normally used in handphone keypads and the thickness is only 1~2mm.

Still we cannot use PWB because there is no space. We have to make a free gap between the reflector surface and LED to make sure the LED light doesnt focus at one area on a surface. So, instead of PWB, i use copper sticker for the circuit to increase the gap.


Basic Car Mentainance Tips

1. Check the oil
Check the level and condition of the car's motor oil.

Change the oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles or follow what's in the owner's manual...

If it's time for an oil change, be sure to get it done before your trip.

2. Inspect the battery
Make sure your car's battery and cables are securely attached and free of corrosion. Car batteries typically last three to five years.

If you're in that three- to five-year window, you may want to consider replacing the battery..

3. Try the lights
It's important that you're able to see and be seen on the road. So check headlights, brake lights and turn signals and replace any burned-out lights.


Car Voltage Stabilizer

It is a simple car voltage stabilizer that connected directly to a car battery.

The function is to stabilize or filter an AC voltage from the alternator to get a clean DC voltage. A clean DC voltage is required for electronics equipment to operates in optimum condition. The alternator voltage output is regulated and still has AC noise which will cause a humming noise to a power amplifier.

This circuit will filter both low frequency noise and high frequency noise. The lower value capasitor will filter high frequency noise while higher value capasitor will filter low frequency noise.

*** All capasitors voltage value is minimum 16V (recomended). Do not use lower than 16V capasitor. ;)


Blinking 4th LED brake light / rear light

This circuit is designed for a LED light reflector. It is designed only for LED and using this circuit for the ordinary bulb will burn the circuit. The operating voltage for this circuit is max 16VDC and the output (LED input) voltage range is 12~14VDC, so please connect it to a serial-parallel LED(input 12VDC) or else it will burn the LED.

This circuit function is to make the LED illuminate while the red rear lamp in switched on and when the brake pedal is pressed, it will activate the RELAY1 and the LED will start blinking. The LED will immediately stop blinking when the brake pedal is released.

Using 555 timer IC as a LED blinker, R1 & R2 can be changed the value to adjust the LED blinking speed to suits your preference. You could also replace the R1 and R2 with preset or variable resistor (value: 100K ohm) for easier speed adjustment.

It is a simple, cheap and easy to make circuit. The cost estimation is around RM10 and can complete within 1 hour.
